The Minister of Defence, Alhaji Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, is currently in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for the opening day of the Dubai Airshow 2025.
He is attending alongside Air Vice Marshal A.Y. Abdullahi, the representative of the Chief of the Air Staff.
The event was inaugurated by the Emir of Dubai and Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
The airshow, which holds biennially, serves as a premier global platform for the aerospace, space, and defence industries to foster business growth, showcase innovative technologies, and encourage international collaboration.

The event is recognised as one of the world’s leading airshows, connecting political leaders, innovators, and officials from various governments.
A statement signed by the minister’s personal assistant on media and publicity, Mati Ali, said during the opening ceremony, Badaru led the Nigerian delegation in a tour of key facilities and display stands representing notable leaders in aerospace manufacturing.
He added that the Nigerian delegation aims to highlight the nation’s advancements in defence technology, reinforcing Nigeria’s commitment to participating actively in global defence discussions and collaborations.
