The National Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB), in partnership with the Motion Picture Practitioners Association of Nigeria (MOPPAN), will organise a roundtable dialogue on capacity building on virtual film development for stakeholders this week.
A press release issued by Al-Amin Ciroma, the MOPPAN spokesman, said
the event is being organised “in order to boost the capacity of the practitioners in the industry.”
The two-day event, which will hold on March 9 and 10, 2022 in Kano, is themed: “Guilds and Associations Mandate on Film Production and Outlook on Social Media, Benefits and Menace to Society”.
According to Ciroma, some professional resource persons are expected to deliver papers which would focus on creating awareness and insight on the aspect of social media, especially its benefits and perceived menace on the society.
“Accordingly, the participants shall have a clear view of the virtual development of filmmaking,” he said, adding, “MOPPAN will hold a plenary congress session on the second day to discuss pertinent matters of the organisation and tidy up loopholes detected at the biennial congress held in January 2022.”
