The Minister of Defence, Alhaji Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, has commended the soldiers stationed at Dukku Barracks in Birnin Kebbi, the capital of Kebbi State, for their professional competence, courage, and sacrifices in the fight against banditry and other forms of crime in that part of the country.
A press statement signed by Mati Ali, the Personal Assistant on Media and Publicity to the Minister explained that Badaru made the remark during his operational visit to the barracks.
He said the purpose of the visit was to assess the progress of ongoing military operations in the region and to uplift the morale of the dedicated soldiers actively working to combat insecurity, particularly in the North-west.
In his address to the troops, the minister conveyed the deep appreciation of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for their relentless efforts and achievements in promoting peace across the nation.
“The President and the nation are profoundly grateful for your unwavering commitment,” he said.
The minister encouraged the troops to intensify their efforts in eradicating all forms of insecurity in the country, emphasising that “it is time to finish all aspects of insecurity.”
He posed the question, “Are you ready to end it?” to which the troops responded with a resounding, “Yes! Sir!”
This unified response reinforced the minister’s confidence in the troops’ ability to restore peace and security, allowing citizens to conduct their daily lives without fear.

Badaru reiterated the government’s commitment to supporting the armed forces, prioritising their welfare and resources to ensure they are well-equipped to carry out their duties.
