The Minister of Agriculture, Senator Abubakar Kyari, has said that Saudi Arabia has shown interest in establishing factories in Nigeria to manufacture farming equipment.
Kyari revealed this in a statement on his X account on Saturday after a meeting with stakeholders from Saudi Arabia.
He stated that the objective is to support Nigeria’s agricultural sector through mechanization by setting up these plants in the country.
Additionally, he mentioned that Saudi Arabia has committed to purchasing 200,000 metric tons of red meat and one million tons of soya from Nigeria annually.
According to Kyari, this initiative will further strengthen the agricultural sector and boost the country’s production capacity.
