Earlier in his welcome address, Brigadier General Amakor had stated that the concept of Exercise Shining Star was to provide “a common platform for a harmonised post-basic training for selected young soldiers of 82 Regular Recruits Intake across Nigerian Army formations”.

He emphasised that the exercise was meant to carefully improve the knowledge of the trainees on how to confront the current security challenges bedevelling the country and in particular the division’s “area of responsibility”.

Amakor used the opportunity to thank and appreciate the GOC for “the timely provision of resources without which the training wouldn’t have achieve the desired aim and objectives”.
