Niger State Governor and Chairman of the North-central States Governors Forum (NCSGF), Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello, has expressed sadness over the sudden death of a former Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Ibrahim Isa Ladan.
In a condolence message, Bello said the demise of the former SSG was a huge loss to the state government in general and the Borgu Kingdom in particular.
Eulogising the deceased, he described him as an outstanding administrator and politician who greatly contributed to the growth and development of the state.
He said the late Ladan served the state with great passion, stressing that his loyalty to the administration was unwavering and remarkable.
The governor commiserated with the emir and people of Borgu Emirate, as well as the family of the deceased.
He prayed to the Almighty Allah to forgive his shortcomings and grant him eternal rest in Jannatul Firdausi.
Ladan was appointed SSG by Governor Bello in 2016.
He was a former commissioner representing Niger State in the Federal Character Commission and was a one-time chairman of Borgu Local Government Area.
The deceased, 62, was a seasoned politician and also a former senatorial aspirant for Niger North Senatorial district under the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Ladan was a turbanned councillor in the Borgu Kingdom and who served on the Governor-elect Transition Committee set up by Governor Sani Bello to prepare ground for the administration’s inauguration in 2015.
