A popular Nollywood actress, Ada Ameh, is dead.
The actress, who had reportedly been battling health-related issues, slumped at about 11 p.m. on Sunday during an outing in Warri, Delta State, and was pronounced dead by doctors at a health facility where she was rushed to, reports said.
Sources said she had gone to visit an oil company worker and his family in the metropolis when she passed on.
Confirming the news, the President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Emeka Rollas, told The Punch on Monday morning: “We lost Ada. No details at the moment, but we’ve lost Ada.”
Ameh spent more than two decades in the Nigerian movie industry and was most notable for her character as Anita in a 1996 movie titled ‘Domitilla’ and as Emu Johnson in the award-winning TV series titled ‘The Johnsons’.
