President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Dr. Abubakar Dantsoho as the Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA). In addition, Senator Adedayo Adeyeye has been named the Chairman of the Board of the NPA.
The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Chief Ajuri Ngelale, announced the appointments, highlighting Dr. Dantsoho’s impressive academic credentials.
Dr. Dantsoho holds a Doctorate in Maritime Technology from Liverpool John Moores University, UK, and a Master’s in International Transport from Cardiff University of Wales, UK. His extensive experience includes roles as Assistant General Manager, Technical Assistant to the Managing Director, Port Manager of Onne Port, and Principal Manager of Tariff & Billing at the NPA.
Senator Adeyeye, the new Board Chairman, brings a wealth of experience as a seasoned lawyer, journalist, and politician. He previously served as Minister of State for Works and represented Ekiti South Senatorial District in the Senate.
President Tinubu expressed his expectation that the new leadership will bring excellence to their roles, enhancing port services and improving industry outcomes.
