President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has sent condolences to the family of Ambassador Zakari Ibrahim, who passed away on Sunday in Abuja.
Ibrahim, 81, was a former Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and the Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA).
In a press release signed by Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, President Tinubu also commiserated with the government and people of Katsina State and the Katsina Emirate Council, where the retired intelligence officer held the esteemed title of Talba.
At various times, the late Ambassador Ibrahim was the Deputy National Security Adviser, Director-General of the NIA, and Minister of State for Foreign Affairs.
Tinubu said the deceased’s service to the nation as an intelligence officer, diplomat and community leader would be remembered long after his death.
He prayed for the repose of his soul and urged his family and proteges to immortalise the late intelligence chief by embodying the virtues he stood for.
