President Bola Ahmed Tinubu today replaced all the service chiefs, the inspector-general of police, advisers, and the comptroller-general of customs with immediate effect.
A press issued by the office of the secretary to the government of the federation, signed by the
Director of Information, Mr. Willie Bassey, indicated that the newly appointed officers include Malam Nuhu Ribadu as the National Security Adviser; Major Gen. C.G. Musa as the Chief of Defence Staff; Major-General T.A. Lagbaja as the Chief of Army Staff, and Rear Admiral E.A. Ogalla as the Chief of Naval Staff.
Others are AVM H.B. Abubakar as the Chief of Air Staff; DIG Kayode Egbetokun as the Acting Inspector-General of Police; and Major-General EPA Undiandeye as the Chief of Defence Intelligence.
The president also approved the appointment of Col. Adebisi Onasanya as the Brigade of Guards Commander; and Lt. Col. Moshood Abiodun Yusuf as the 7 Guards Battalion, Asokoro, Abuja.
Others are Lt. Col. Auwalu Baba Inuwa as the commander, 177 Guards Battalion, Keffi, Nasarawa State; Lt. Col. Mohammed J. Abdulkarim as commander of the 102 Guards Battalion, Suleja, Niger State; and Lt. Col. Olumide A. Akingbesote as the commander of 176 Guards Battalion, Gwagwalada, Abuja.
Similarly, Tinubu has appointed other military officers in the Presidential Villa. They comprised of Major Isa Farouk Audu (N/14695) as the Commanding Officer, State House Artillery; Capt. Kazeem Olalekan Sunmonu (N/16183) as the Second-in-Command, State House Artillery; and Major Kamaru Koyejo Hamzat (N/14656) as the Commanding Officer, State House Military Intelligence.
Others are Major TS Adeola (N/12860) as the Commanding Officer, State House Armament; Lt. A. Aminu (N/18578) as Second-in- Command, State House Armament.
The President further approved the appointment of two additional Special Advisers, and two Senior Assistants. They are Hadiza Bala Usman as Special Adviser, Policy Coordination; Hannatu Musa Musawa as Special Adviser, Culture and Entertainment Economy; Sen. Abdullahi Abubakar Gumel as Senior Special Assistant, National Assembly Matters (Senate), and Hon. (Barr) Olarewaju Kunle Ibrahim as Senior Special Assistant, National Assembly Matters (House of Representatives).
Also, he approved the appointment of Adeniyi Bashir Adewale as the Acting Comptroller General of Customs.
Thes statement noted, however, that the appointed service chiefs, the inspector-general of police and the comptroller-general of the customs would have to act in their positions, pending their confirmation by the National Assembly in accordance with the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
