The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HCSF), Olumuyiwa Enitan Abel, has urged federal civil servants to uphold professionalism, integrity, accountability and excellence in the discharge of their duties.
Abel made the call in an Independence Anniversary message to federal civil servants as Nigeria commemorates its 66th Independence Anniversary today, Thursday, October 1, 2026.
In the message, the Head of the Civil Service congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and all federal civil servants on the national occasion, saying this year’s theme, “From Reforms to Stability: Consolidating Nigeria’s Renewed Hope for Shared Prosperity,” reflected the country’s ongoing transformation and the need to sustain reforms aimed at building a more resilient and prosperous nation.
He commended federal civil servants for their dedication, patriotism and steadfast service to the country, noting that every policy implemented, service delivered and responsibility diligently discharged contributes to the development of Nigeria.
Abel called on civil servants to continue to maintain the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, accountability and excellence, with the public interest remaining at the centre of their responsibilities.
“As we celebrate this milestone, may we renew our faith in Nigeria, deepen our resolve to advance her progress, and inspire us to serve with pride, purpose and a shared sense of responsibility,” he said.
He wished Nigerians a happy 66th Independence Anniversary and prayed for the continued progress of the Federal Civil Service and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
