The Nigerian president said Lula’s renewed mandate presented an opportunity to deepen the longstanding friendship and historical ties between Nigeria and Brazil.

He noted that both countries, as leading nations of the Global South, could promote economic integration and advance their common interests amid a rapidly changing global order.

Tinubu expressed his readiness to expand cooperation between Nigeria and Brazil in several areas, including trade and investment, agriculture and food security, energy, oil and gas, manufacturing, science and technology, education, aviation, and cultural exchange.

He also reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to working with Brazil to strengthen multilateral cooperation and advance shared priorities across Africa, South America, and the wider Global South.

“On behalf of the people of Nigeria, I wish you a successful new term in office,” Tinubu said.

The renewed commitment comes amid efforts by both countries to deepen economic and diplomatic engagement and strengthen cooperation among developing nations.

Nigeria and Brazil have longstanding historical and cultural connections, with opportunities for further collaboration in trade, agriculture, energy, education, and technology.
