The Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA) has announced the 45th edition of its International Convention and Conference, scheduled to hold from Thursday, October 29 to Sunday, November 1, 2026, in Abuja.
A press statement issued by the ANA media team said that the four-day event will take place at the Mamman Vatsa Writers’ Village, Maitama Extension, Mpape, Abuja, under the theme, “Literature, National Security, and the Place of Nigeria in the World.”
The convention is expected to attract writers, scholars, literary enthusiasts and other stakeholders from Nigeria and beyond for intellectual discussions and a range of literary activities.
According to ANA, the opening ceremony will be chaired by Dr Bukar Usman, while Professor Mahfouz Adedemji will deliver the keynote address.
Other participants listed for the event include retired CP Emmanuel Ojukwu, Dr Alexander Ochogwu Emmanuel and Toyin Adewale-Gabriel, while Odoh Diego Okenyodo will serve as moderator.
Chinyere Obi-Obasi and Benjamin Ubiri are expected to serve as compères during the convention.
The programme will feature speeches, literary performances, panel discussions, workshops and an awards dinner, among other activities.
ANA said the convention would provide a platform for meaningful conversations on the role of literature in addressing contemporary national and global challenges, with particular attention to security, identity, citizenship and Nigeria’s place in the international community.
The association invited its members, literary practitioners, invited guests and other stakeholders to participate in the 45th edition of the annual international convention.
