The Deputy Chief of Administration, Veterans Affairs, of the Nigerian Army, Major-General Uriah Opuene, has charged re-engaged retired personnel to always discharge their duties with utmost commitment while contributing their quota in training recruits for the Army.
Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, Depot Nigerian Army Zaria, Major Everest Ochienta, said in a press release that the team leader made this assertion during his interactive session with the re-engaged retired personnel of Depot Nigerian Army, Zaria, today at the depot auditorium.
Opuene further stated that the purpose of his visit was to affirm the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede’s unwavering commitment to improving the welfare of the re-engaged personnel as well as to have an on-the-spot assessment and evaluation.
Earlier, he paid a courtesy visit to the Commandant of the depot, Major General Ahmadu Mohammed, at the depot conference room where he stated that no stone would be left unturned by his team in ensuring that the objective of the assessment visit was met.
In his response, the commandant said that he is currently working out modalities on how to secure a convenient accommodation for the re-engaged personnel as a way of boosting their morale.
The assessment visit witnessed the inspection of the Quarter Guard by the team leader, presentation of souvenirs, and a group photograph.
In attendance were the Acting Chief of Staff, Depot NA, Zaria, Lieutenant Colonel Adedayo Adejuwon, other members of the assessment team, senior officers and officers of depot.
