The International Federation of Reproduction Rights Organizations (IFRRO) and the Pan African Writers Association (PAWA) have formally signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding on copyright.
The MoU was signed on November 19, 2025 on the sidelines of the Workshop on Copyright Compliance in Education and the Role of Collective Management, held at the KNUST Library in Kumasi, Ghana.
A statement issued by the PAWA noted that the event marked a major step forward in strengthening cooperation between African authors, the publishing industry, and Reproduction Rights Organisations (RROs).
The signing was witnessed by the CEO of CopyGhana, Mr. Joseph Baffour Gyamfi, and the Executive Director of the African Publishers Network (APNET), Mr. Ernest Oppong, reflecting broad support across the creative and collective management community for this important partnership.
