The Nigerian Mining and Geosciences Society (NMGS) has conferred its Honorary Fellowship Award on the Comptroller-General of Customs, Mr Adewale Adeniyi, last Wednesday.

A press release issued by the NCS today said Adeniyi, now an elected Fellow of the Society, received the award during a dinner and awards night organised to mark the conclusion of the Society’s 60th Conference and Exhibition, held at Chida International Hotel, Abuja.

The two-day conference, with the theme, “Transformation of the Mineral, Energy, Water, and Construction Sectors through Innovation,” focused on discussions surrounding mining industry reforms, policy enhancements, and the broader public appreciation of geosciences’ role in national development.

The newly elected Fellows for 2025 included Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, Governor Mai Mala Buni, Dr Zacch Adedeji, Governor Abdullahi Sule, and Henry Dele Alake, among others.
