Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, has visited the military operations theatre in Katsina, emphasizing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s commitment to equipping and training the armed forces to enhance combat readiness against insurgency and terrorism.

During his address at Operation Hadarin Daji’s 213 Forward Operating Base, Minister Abubakar highlighted President Tinubu’s notable achievements in combating insurgency and related crimes.

He praised the troops’ sacrifices and urged them to persist in their efforts against insurgency and banditry.

The Minister also addressed the recent killing of soldiers in Abia State, assuring that the government is determined to bring the perpetrators to justice and prevent future incidents.

Air Commodore G.I. Jibia, commanding the air component of Operation Hadarin Daji, expressed gratitude for the Minister’s visit, noting that it would significantly boost troop morale.

Earlier in the day, Minister Abubakar engaged in discussions with officers and personnel of the 17 Brigade of the Nigerian Army and Sector 2 Joint Task Force Operation Hadarin Daji to assess their preparedness in addressing security threats in the region.

In addition, the Minister visited the Nigerian Army Medical Center in Katsina, where he expressed sympathy for military personnel injured in combat operations.
