Dr Nentawe Yilwatda, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in the 2023 general elections in Plateau, has congratulated President Bola Tinubu and Vice-President Kashim Shettima, on their victory at the Supreme Court.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Presidential Candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and his Labour Party counterpart, Mr Peter Obi, had challenged the victory of Tinubu and Shettima at the court.

NAN also reports that the apex court had, in a unanimous judgment on Thursday (today), dismissed Abubakar and Obi’s appeals, affirming Tinubu as the duly-elected president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Yilwatda, in a statement issued by his Spokesman, Shittu Bamaiyi, expressed happiness that the apex court’s unanimous judgment was a confirmation that Tinubu won the presidential election without any iota of doubt.

He noted that the fact that there was no dissenting opinion among the seven justices who heard the appeal was a testimony that APC was the choice of Nigerians, particularly at the presidential level.

“With what has been happening since Sunday with the APC family nationwide, it is indeed heartwarming and also reassuring, particularly with members of the party in Plateau.

“I appeal to APC supporters in the state to continue to be calm, prayerful and hopeful, as there is visible light at the end of the tunnel.

“Congratulations, all APC supporters in Nigeria on the victory. The supreme court decision indeed calls for celebration across the nation,” he said. (NAN)
