The Federal Government has conveyed a high-level meeting with key stakeholders on Monday at the Federal Ministry of Finance in Abuja to speed up the Presidential CNG Initiative (Pi-CNG), aiming to provide affordable and sustainable energy to Nigerians.
In a statement by the Ministry’s Director of Information and Public Relations, Mohammed Manga, the Minister of Finance, Mr. Wale Edun, said that the initiative aims to provide affordable and sustainable energy alternatives to Nigerians, mitigating the economic impact of recent policy changes.
He highlighted the need for careful planning and coordination to make the Pi-CNG a success.
“As the nation navigates recent policy changes, this high-level meeting marked a crucial step towards mitigating economic impact and paving the way for a brighter energy future. It also marks a significant step towards achieving the goals of the Presidential CNG Initiative,” the statement reads.
The meeting was attended by the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, Mrs. Lydia Shehu Jafiya, the CEO of the Ministry of Finance Incorporated, Dr. Armstrong Ume Takang, and representatives from the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS).
