The Kaduna State Pilgrims Welfare Agency says it welcomes the decision by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) to extend the Hajj registration deadline to January 31, 2024.
The extension followed calls by Muslim leaders and stakeholders for the registration extension in order to provide for wider participation in the holy pilgrimage.
The Executive Chairman of the agency, Malam Salihu S. Abubakar, made this known in a press statement signed by the spokesperson of the agency, Malam Yunusa Mohammed Abdullahi, in Kaduna.
Malam Salihu called on all intending pilgrims in the state to seize this opportunity and complete their Hajj deposits before the new deadline expires.
He said: “The extension provides valuable time for those who have not registered to fulfil their dream of performing Hajj.”
He reminded the intending pilgrims that registration can only be done through designated registration officers in all the 23 Local Government Areas of the state.
To initiate the process, intending pilgrims should obtain a customised bank teller from these officers before making their deposit, he added.
Malam Salihu assured that the agency is committed to providing all necessary support and guidance to ensure a smooth and successful Hajj experience for all
intending pilgrims and urged anyone wishing to participate in this year’s Hajj to act quickly and make use of the extended timeframe.
