The Commandant of the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), Major General J.O. Ochai, has been conferred with the esteemed Defence Training Medal Award.
A statement from the academy said this prestigious honour recognises Ochai’s exceptional contributions to the training and development of Nigeria’s future military leaders.
The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General C.G. Musa, who chaired the event, emphasised the significance of the award as a symbol of appreciation for the hard work and diligence exhibited by commandants and directors-general of various defence establishments.
Musa commended Ochai for his outstanding leadership and commitment to excellence.
The award ceremony took place at the Defence Headquarters in Abuja, with dignitaries from across military establishments.
It brought together principal staff officers from various branches of the military, highlighting the unity and cooperation within the armed forces.
The statement said: “The Defence Training Medal Award is a testament to Nigeria’s dedication to fostering a robust and capable armed forces, ensuring that military leaders are well-equipped to navigate the complexities of the future.”
