A popular Nigerian entrepreneur and commentator, Gaius Chibueze, has openly expressed disappointment in IPOB leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, following his recent sentencing.

In a recent interview with Gbam, Chibueze said Kanu failed to use his massive influence to strategically promote credible Igbo population into key political positions — a move that could have strengthened the political relevance of the Southeast.

He added that despite Kanu’s large following, his rhetoric over the years became increasingly harsh and counterproductive, leading Chibueze to withdraw his support.

“Leadership is about leveraging influence to advance your people politically and socially,” Chibueze said.

“Unfortunately, Kanu’s approach fostered division rather than progress. His words no longer reflect actions that would bring sustainable growth to Ndi Igbo.”

Chibueze emphasized that real progress for Ndi Igbo requires unity, strategic engagement, and credible leadership, not polarizing rhetoric.
