The National Orientation Agency (NOA) has sought the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) collaboration to educate and enlighten the public about government policies and programs.
The Yobe Director of NOA, Malam Ali Audu, made this appeal during a courtesy visit to the NUJ Yobe Council in Damaturu on Tuesday.
He congratulated the NUJ chairman on his re-election and praised Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe for his achievements in the state.
“As an agency, NOA is saddled with the responsibility of enlightening the public, we seek the collaboration of NUJ in achieving this goal,” he said.
Audu also requested that the council include NOA staff in available training programs to enhance their capacities.
Responding, Mr. Rajab Mohammed, the NUJ Chairman of Yobe Council, thanked the NOA official for the visit and described it as ‘the first of its kind.’
He noted that NOA and NUJ share the same purpose of informing and educating the public.
Mohammed assured that NOA would be included in the forthcoming media games organized by the council.
He expressed the union’s commitment to collaborating with other stakeholders to ensure effective public information, education, and enlightenment. (NAN)
