However, Tambuwal has rejected claims that Bukola Saraki and Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State emerged as the PDP Northern consensus candidates of the party for the election.

The governor, when accosted by State House correspondents, declined comment on the outcome of his meeting with the president, saying his visit was private.

NAN, however, reliably learnt that he briefed the president on socio-economic and security developments in his state.

NAN reports that the president also met behind closed doors with Govermor Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi State.

Bagudu, who is also the Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum, declined comment on the outcome of the meeting. (NAN)
