President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of three new heads of agencies.
They are: Bello Bawa Bwari (Niger State) as the new Director-General, the National Biosafety Management Agency; Hon. Barr. Aminu Junaidu (Zamfara State) as Chairman/ Chief Executive Officer of the Investment and Security Tribunal, and Olayiwola Nurudeen Awakan as Director-General of the Nigerian Tourism Development Corporation.
While the appointment of both Bwari and Awakan is for an initial term of four years each, that of Junaidu is for five years.
Bwari’s appointment is effective from September 18, 2025 in accordance with the provision of Section 5 of the National Biosafety Management Agency, 2015, that of Junaidu is effective September 18, 2025, while that of Awakan is effective September 2, 2025.
A press release issued by the Director of Information and Public Relations in the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Segun Imohiosen, said the appointments underscore President Tinubu’s commitment to strengthening key sectors and institutions in Nigeria.
It added that the President tasked the appointees to contribute their expertise in the development of the agencies for the good of the nation.
