Former Managing Director of New Nigerian Newspapers (NNN) Limited, Malam Tukur Othman, is dead.
He died in the early hours of Friday at Garkuwa Hospital, Kaduna, after a protracted illness.
A statement issued on behalf of the family by Malam Tukur Mamu, the publisher of Desert Herald newspaper, said Alhaji Tukur is survived by two wives and 16 children.
Mamu, who disclosed that the deceased was the pioneer Executive Editorial Adviser of the Desert Herald, added: “As we continue to appreciate his patriotic services to us, to Nigeria and the entire newspaper industry, I wish to condole (with) his entire family and all loved ones.”
He also said the funeral prayers for the deceased would be conducted today at the Misbahu Mosque, Unguwar Rimi, Kaduna, immediately after the Juma’at prayers.
“May Allah accept his prolonged sickness as kaffara and grant him Aljanna Firdausi,” he said.
