The late Zainab Buba Marwa

The first wife of Buba Marwa, Chairman of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Zainab is dead.

Aged 66, Zainab Marwa was a native of Imo state.

According to a statement released by the family, it said Zainab died in the early hours of today after a brief illness.

However, the family has refused to disclose the nature of the sickness to the general public.

Zainab Marwa is survived by her siblings, 10 grandchildren, aged mother and her four children: Abubakar, Mohamed, Mariam and Zainab.

Until her death, Zainab was an advocate of advancement for women and the girl-child.

The family in the statement said it will announce her burial plan at a later date.
