Hajiya Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, Minister of Women Affairs

The Minister of Women Affairs, Hajiya Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, has expressed sadness over Friday’s fire outbreak at the Masaka Market in Nasarawa State and sympathised with those affected by it.

In a signed statement, the minister said: “This tragic incident has caused significant losses, and the Ministry shares in the grief of all those affected.

“Our thoughts are with the traders and families who have been impacted by this disaster.

“The Ministry sympathises with the people of Karu during this difficult time.”

The fire incident occurred on Friday, destroying over 500 shops.

It was the second major fire incident at the market in recent years, the last occurring in 2019.

Governor Abdullahi Sule visited the scene yesterday and pledged support for the affected traders.
