Three Nigerian writers have arrived in Iseyin, Oyo State, for the February/ March 2026 edition of the Ebedi International Writers Residency.
The trio are Abubakar Auwal, Azeez Akinwumi Sesan, and Ebri Will Chinonso.
A statement issued by the Residency said in addition to their individual writing projects, they will also mentor secondary school students in Iseyin during their four-week stay.
The Ebedi International Writers Residency is a Nigeria-based private initiative offering writers a conducive environment to complete their ongoing works at no cost.
Since its establishment in 2010 by a former President of the Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA), Dr. Wale Okediran, the facility has hosted about 400 writers from 12 African countries, many of whom have produced outstanding and award-winning books.
The residency is a renowned programme specifically tailored to support African writers by providing them with a conducive environment to work on their projects, network with other writers, and engage in literary activities.
Participants of the Residency typically stay for a period of four weeks during which they are provided with accommodation, meals, and a comfortable workspace.
The serene environment of the residency, surrounded by nature and away from the hustle and bustle of urban life, offers writers the peace and solitude necessary for creative inspiration.
The Residency plays a vital role in nurturing African literary talent, fostering creativity, and promoting the rich cultural heritage of the continent through the power of storytelling.
