Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Mr. Olayemi Cardoso, has assured that the bank is committed to modernising foreign exchange administration, reinforcing market confidence, and strengthening Nigeria’s macroeconomic foundations.
Speaking at the launch of the fourth edition of the CBN Foreign Exchange Manual, held at the CBN headquarters in Abuja on Friday, the governor described the event as a major step towards strengthening transparency, consistency, and efficiency in Nigeria’s foreign exchange market.
Cardoso noted that effective June 1, 2026, the revised manual, which was developed through extensive stakeholder consultations and rigorous technical review, will be provided free of charge to authorised dealers to support seamless implementation and compliance.

He emphasised the importance of professionalism, accountability, fairness, and strong monitoring frameworks in sustaining the credibility and stability of Nigeria’s foreign exchange market.
