The Minister of State for Regional Development, Alhaji Uba Maigari, says he is confident that no opposition party or coalition poses a threat to President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in the 2027 general elections.

Maigari stated this on Wednesday while speaking with newsmen after a stakeholders’ meeting of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Jalingo, Taraba.

According to him, the opposition has not presented a compelling alternative capable of convincing Nigerians to vote against the president.

“I can tell you for free that the victory in 2027 will be very loud. Look at the opposition candidates. Apart from moving from one political party to another, what have they done to make Nigerians vote for them? Nothing,” he said.

The minister said the Tinubu administration had implemented policies and projects that, in his view, had positioned the APC for victory in the next general election.

He listed infrastructural development, education, healthcare, human capital development and economic reforms among the administration’s achievements.

“The President has laid the foundation for a sound victory in 2027 through strategic development across different sectors of the country,” Maigari said.

Commenting on developments in Taraba, the minister commended Gov. Agbu Kefas for efforts to unite members of the APC and promote inclusiveness within the party.

He expressed confidence in the governor’s leadership, saying party stakeholders would continue to support him to deliver good governance.

Maigari also dismissed allegations that the APC was using state institutions to intimidate opposition parties.

“State institutions have constitutional responsibilities. When they investigate or engage individuals over genuine issues, it should not automatically be interpreted as political persecution,” he said.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the APC stakeholders’ meeting in Jalingo was part of ongoing efforts by the party to strengthen internal cohesion and prepare for future political activities in the state. (NAN)
