The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs. Esther Didi Walson-Jack, today in Abuja led a high-level monitoring team to the Federal Ministry of Finance to assess the implementation of the Performance Management System (PMS) in the Federal Civil Service with a charge on workers to prioritise and ensure efficient service delivery to Nigerians

Walson-Jack, who was received by the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Finance, Mrs. Lydia Shehu Jafiya, and the ministry’s directors in her office in Abuja, stated that the visit aimed to evaluate the progress of PMS implementation in the ministry, identify areas of strength and weakness, as well as provide recommendations for improvement.

Represented by the Permanent Secretary, Career Management Office, in the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs Fatima Sugra Mahmood, the Head of Service emphasised that the PMS is a critical tool for achieving excellence in the civil service.

She urged officers to leverage the system to enhance productivity, accountability, and transparency.

“As we strive for a more efficient and effective civil service, it is imperative that we prioritise service delivery and ensure that our actions translate to tangible benefits for the Nigerian people,” Walson-Jack stated.

She commended the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun, and the Minister of State Finance, Dr. Doris Nkiruka Uzoka-Anite, for their doggedness in driving the economic reforms of the Tinubu Administration, which she said is repositioning the economy for the future of Nigeria.

She reiterated her commitment to the realisation of policy objectives of government regarding the PMS.
