The Head of State, General Murtala Ramat Muhammed (November 8, 1938 – February 13, 1976), flanked by the Emir of Gwandu, Alhaji Haruna Rashid (1913-1995), Ọba Lamidi Adeyemi III, the Aláàfin of Òyó since November 18, 1970, and two other emirs when the royal fathers paid him a courtesy call at Dodan Barracks, Lagos, in 1976.
