President Muhammadu Buhari was in Damaturu, Yobe State, today where he commissioned developmental projects executed by the state government and the Nigerian Police Force.
They included the multi-million naira Damaturu Ultra Modern Market, the newly built Police Headquarters, Maternal and Child Healthcare Complex, and the Yobe Cargo Airport which was named after the president.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) quoted the president expressing joy for the honour to commission the airport that was named after him.
“It is my singular honour and privilege to commission this project which is named after me,” Buhari said.
The president also visited the Emir of Damaturu, Hashimi II El-Kanemi, at his palace.

Buhari was accompanied by the President of the Senate, Ahmed Lawan, Governor Mai Mala Buni and his Borno counterpart Babagana Zulum, the Minister of Police Affairs, Mohammed Maigari Dingyadi, the Inspector General of Police, Alƙali Baba Usman, among others.
