As Nigeria continues to navigate a critical moment in its democratic journey, strong leadership in public communication and national orientation has never been more vital. It is within this context that we celebrate Hon. Mohammed Idris Malagi not only for his 59th birthday but for his remarkable service as Minister of Information and National Orientation under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.

On this special day, I extend my heartfelt birthday wishes to a man of vision, discipline, and integrity. May this new chapter of your life bring continued strength, wisdom, and renewed commitment to the noble service of our great nation.

Since his appointment, Minister Malagi has shown unwavering dedication to promoting transparency, fighting misinformation, and deepening public trust in government. His leadership has brought a refreshing clarity to public communication, earning the respect of many across political and social divides.

One of his landmark achievements is the national campaign against fake news, supported by the launch of Nigeria’s first Media and Information Literacy Institute. Through this initiative, he is helping build a generation of informed citizens who are equipped to discern truth in the digital age.

In addition, Malagi has prioritised transparency and public engagement, presiding over regular media briefings and ensuring that government policies are not only communicated but also understood. This has helped narrow the trust gap between the government and its people.

He has also championed the revitalization of media infrastructure, including the long-overdue renovation of the historic Radio House in Abuja, transforming it into a modern center for information dissemination and policy communication.

What stands out even more is his deep commitment to inclusiveness. By decentralizing communication and encouraging content in indigenous languages, he has brought national messaging to the grassroots, ensuring that no community is left behind.

Hon. Malagi’s achievements are a reflection of President Tinubu’s broader vision, one anchored on reform, accountability, and unity. Today, as we celebrate his 59th birthday, we also celebrate his leadership as a pillar in the president’s administration and a beacon for responsible communication in Nigeria.

May this birthday be a reminder that your work is seen, appreciated, and deeply impactful. Happy birthday, Hon. Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris Malagi. May your days ahead be filled with greater accomplishments and continued service to Nigeria.
