The Kano Station project on Nigeria’s Kaka Railway is approaching the topping-out of its main structure, with completion expected in early May, says its Chinese contractor, CCECC.

Covering a total floor area of over 13,000 square meters, the project features both the main building and supporting facilities, making it the largest station along the Kaka Railway line.

The main line of the railway, which was launched by the then President Muhammadu Buhari on July 15, 2021, is about 204 kilometres in length.

It is a standard gauge railway that starts from Kaduna and passes through Zaria to Kano, hence the sobriquet Kaka (KAduna – KAno).

Its completion is a top priority of the current Tinubu Administration.

CCECC says in a statement today that upon completion, it will improve local transport and greatly facilitate travel for millions of residents along the Kano section of the railway.
