The Vice-Chancellor of Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), Professor Sa’adatu Hassan Liman, has announced the appointment of three new Deputy Vice-Chancellors at the 129th Regular Meeting of the Senate.
A press release from the university’s Information and Protocol Unit said the meeting was held this Thursday at the university’s Senate Chamber.
It added that the appointment of the newly appointed DVCs is effective from July 7, 2025.
The appointees are Professor Muhammad Maikano Ari as Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic, Dr. Halima Doma Kutigi as Deputy Vice-Chancellor Administration, and Dr. K’tso Ngharbu as Deputy Vice-Chancellor Research and Innovations.
Ari, the DVC Academic, is a Professor of Animal Nutrition in the Department of Animal Science at Nasarawa State University, Keffi.
He has previously served as the Director of Quality Assurance and Servicom and as the Special Adviser to the Executive Governor of Nasarawa State on Multi-lateral Cooperation (2007-2011).
He is the current Dean, School of Postgraduate Studies.
Kutigi, the DVC Administration, is an Associate Professor at the institution’s Faculty of Law with a specialisation in Public and International Law, she holds LLB, LLM, and PhD degrees in Law from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and the University of Jos, respectively.
She has served as the Director of the Bayo Ojo Centre for Arbitration and Mediation Studies, Head of the Islamic Law Department, and is currently the Deputy Dean of the Faculty.
The Deputy Vice-Chancellor Research and Innovations, Ngharbu, is an Associate Professor and a Nigerian Medical Geologist who earned his PhD from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, with a co-anchored doctoral programme at the University of Silesia in Poland.
He is the current Director of Linkages and International Cooperation at NSUK and has held numerous leadership positions in international scientific bodies, including being the only African member on the board of the International Environmental and Health Sciences Consortium (IEHSC).
He is also known for initiating the first Centre for Medical Geology Research and the first Centre for European Studies in Africa, both situated at NSUK.
