The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has secured a comprehensive court order to seal all branches of Inner Galaxy Steel Company and Jiuxing Integrity Industrial Ltd nationwide.

The National Public Relations Officer of the NSCDC, Afolabi Babawale, said in a press statement the operation “marks a major escalation in the federal crackdown on economic sabotage, infrastructure theft, and the alleged financing of terrorism.”

According to him, suspects linked to the syndicate are facing severe criminal allegations, including conspiracy to commit felony and theft, intentional endangering of safety of persons traveling by railway, obstruction, injuring, and damaging of railway infrastructure, failure to give notice or information to a public officer, dishonestly receiving and assisting in the concealment of stolen property, giving support and financing to terrorist groups for the commission of acts of terrorism, execution of Court Orders and Asset Recovery.

Armed with valid search warrants and court orders, operatives from the Commandant General’s Special Intelligence Squad (CG’S SIS) stormed the Birnin Yero facility in Igabi LGA, Kaduna State.

“All recovered railway sleepers and tracks are being officially secured and transferred to the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) to be preserved as vital exhibits for prosecution,” he said.

Confessions from arrested staff revealed a coordinated logistics network where vandalized national infrastructure was routinely moved to the company’s headquarters in Aba and other branches for melting. The stolen steel was subsequently recycled into commercial products such as nails and roofing sheets.

Consequent upon these discoveries, the closure and investigation orders have been extended to the headquarters of Inner Galaxy Steel Company / Jiuxing Integrity Industrial Ltd located at Ahala Ukwa Village, Umuahala Community, Obuzor Ukwu, Ukwa West LGA, Abia State; the Northern Hub of Inner Galaxy Steel Company located at Tashar Rawayya, Gusau, Zamfara State, and all other branches and subsidiaries of the companies nationwide.

Babawale revealed that the Chinese nationals involved in the management of the complex have been formally summoned by the NSCDC but have yet to appear before investigators.

The Commandant General of the NSCDC, Prof. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, has issued a strict directive to the Commandant in charge of the CG’S SIS, Appollos Dandaura, ensuring that operatives maintain absolute diligence and professionalism throughout this high-impact operation.

He said: “Every single suspect found culpable in this bleeding of our nation’s commonwealth will face the full wrath of the law. The NSCDC remains fiercely committed to reducing infrastructure vandalism to the absolute minimum.”

The NSCDC expressed its profound gratitude to the judiciary for the swift granting of these legal instruments, preventing further interference with crucial evidence.

It also commends the gentlemen of the press for their “vital partnership in shining a bright light on these economic crimes, ensuring transparency and public accountability.”

The Corps further urged members of the public to continue collaborating with the Corps by sharing credible, timely information to help bring an end to infrastructure theft.
