The Nigerian Film Corporation (NFC) has described as false some rumours making the rounds in the social media that its Managing Director, Dr. Ali Nuhu, is dead.
A press statement signed by Brian Etuk, the NFC’s Director of Public Affairs, said its attention was drawn to the reports of the purported passing of the MD and wished to “officially and unambiguously” inform the general public that they were not only malicious and spurious but false in their entirety.
“Dr Ali Nuhu is alive, well and discharging the responsibility of the office of NFC’s Chief Executive,” Etuk said.
He added: “NFC wishes to draw the attention of the perpetrators of these uncouth and dastardly acts, including their sponsors, of the dire and unmistakable consequences of their actions, no matter the innocuousness of their intent.
“Meanwhile, appropriate measures have been initiated to arrest this ugly, baleful and unsatisfactory conduct and trend.”
He said the NFC appreciates genuine concern expressed by the general public, private and public sector stakeholders as a result of the above.”
Ali Nuhu, a popular and award-winning actor, director and producer, was appointed the managing director of the NFC by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on February 12, 2024.
