Tozali TV has announced the 2026 edition of the Henna Ball & Tozali People’s Awards, an event aimed at celebrating excellence, resilience and humanitarian impact while raising support for female survivors of insurgency, banditry and kidnapping.
The event, themed “Empowering Survivors. Restoring Hope.”, is scheduled to take place on October 31, 2026, at the Los Angeles Event Centre in Abuja.
According to a statement issued by the Abuja-based media company on Saturday, the event will bring together government officials, entrepreneurs, creatives, entertainers, philanthropists, community leaders and other stakeholders to recognise individuals and organisations making significant contributions to society.
The organisers said the awards would honour outstanding achievements in areas including hard work and dedication, resilience and perseverance, innovation, talent and excellence, with particular attention to unsung heroes making a difference in their communities.
Beyond the awards and entertainment, Tozali TV said the event would have a humanitarian focus, with efforts directed towards raising awareness and support for the rehabilitation and empowerment of female survivors affected by kidnapping, banditry and Boko Haram insurgency.
The initiative will be undertaken in collaboration with the Tozali Girl Child and Women Foundation and other relevant partners.
Speaking on the vision behind the event, the Chief Executive Officer of Tozali TV, Maimuna Yaya Abubakar, said the Henna Ball was designed to go beyond celebration and recognition.
She said: “The Henna Ball & Tozali People’s Awards is more than a celebration; it is a platform to honour courage, amplify positive stories, and remind survivors that their lives and dreams matter.”
She added that the initiative would bring together communities, leaders and organisations to empower survivors and restore hope.
The 2026 edition will also feature Nigeria’s cultural heritage, fashion, entertainment and creative industries, providing opportunities for collaboration among stakeholders in government, business, media, arts and humanitarian sectors.
Tozali TV called on organisations, institutions, corporate bodies and individuals interested in community empowerment and social impact to partner with the initiative.
The organisers described the event as an evening of celebration and inspiration that would combine recognition of excellence with efforts to support vulnerable survivors and promote their reintegration and empowerment.
