The Federal Government is seeking ways to expand access to certified seeds, establish a decentralised seed certification system with strict quality controls, and finalise preparations for the upcoming dry season farming.
This is the outcome of talks between the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun, and the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Abubakar Kiyari, when Edun paid a courtesy call on the latter in his office in Abuja today.
A press statement issued by the Director of Information and Public Relations in the Finance Ministry, Mohammed Manga, noted that the duo met to advance collaboration on Nigeria’s food security agenda.
“Strengthening agricultural productivity is central to reducing food inflation, attracting private investment, and securing long-term economic growth for Nigeria,” he said.
