* Akinrinade was a Lt. Colonel, having been promoted from Major earlier in May 1968 (Port Harcourt fell later in the month). 

** Godwin Ally was also a Lt. Colonel. He was promoted to the temporary rank of full Colonel in August 1969 with effect from June of that year.
