The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared that Senator Uba Sani, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, as the winner of the governorship election in Kaduna State.

INEC’s Returning Officer for the state, who is the Vice-Chancellor of Usmanu Danfodio University, Sokoto, Professor Lawal Suleiman Bilbis, made the announcement on Monday night, saying Sani scored 730,002 votes to defeat his closest rival, Hon. Isa Ashiru of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who polled 719,196 votes.

The Labour Party (LP) candidate, Mr. Jonathan Asake, polled 58,283 votes, followed by the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) candidate, Senator Suleiman Hunkuyi, with 21,405 votes.
