Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, has congratulated the Pan African Writers Association (PAWA) on the successful hosting of its General Assembly recently in Nigeria.

The minister also reiterated the committment of the Federal Government to PAWA with a promise to fulfill all its outstanding financial obligations to the Pan African body.

Mohammed made these remarks last weekend while playing host to PAWA’S Secretary General, Dr Wale Okediran, when he paid him a visit in his Abuja office.

While thanking the minister for his assuring words, Okediran promised that PAWA would continue to play a very important role in the promotion of African unity through its membership currently spread through 40 African countries.
